Esade Alumni, the magazine of the Esade business school, has recently published its ‘Cybersecurity for Companies and Data Protection 2024 Special’. Cybersecurity has become a fundamental pillar for the success and protection of companies. This special features the collaboration of key leaders in the sector, who share their experience and vision.
Companies have increased their investment in security by 40%, but only 50% have cyber insurance.
O.Brokers took part in the special along with other leading companies in different areas of the cybersecurity sector. Among other professionals, Esade Alumni has interviewed our director, Marta Oller, who has highlighted that:
“Companies are increasingly protected and have increased their investment in cyber security by 40% compared to the previous year. However, there are still 50% of companies that do not have cyber insurance. Having a cyber risk insurance policy is essential to mitigate the effects of a cyber attack. A cyber insurance policy provides companies with a team of experts to help at the time of the incident: technological containment, computer forensics, legal advice and advice on communication and crisis management. In addition, it covers financial damages resulting from the cyber attack, such as loss of profits due to downtime, consultant fees to recover data and systems, and cyber extortion. Finally, cyber insurance covers third party claims arising from the cyber incident and administrative sanctions linked to the GDPR. It is also possible to include a small amount of cover for technological fraud (identity theft and electronic theft of funds) or to take it out separately with a limit and more comprehensive coverage”
